Central Da Nang city plans to put into operation a water plant with a total capacity of 120,000 cu m per day from March 30, providing clean water to thousands of local residents.
The Hoa Lien water plant has total investment of around VND1.170 trillion ($48.9 million).
Main items include a spillway on an area of 13,606 sq m collecting water from the Cu De River and a water treatment plant with a capacity of 120,000 cu m a day.
Work began on the project on March 25, 2020 and it was basically completed on September 30, 2022.
Water supply for the entire city is currently about 330,000 cu m a day.
The project is expected to help meet increasing water demand in the city as the Cam Le River is affected by saltwater intrusion and water levels on the Yen River, streams, and lakes are falling as the dry season approaches.
