The central city of Da Nang has been honored with the Vietnam Smart City Award for the third year in a row.

It was also a winner in three specialized award categories: City with smart transportation and logistics; Attractive city for startups and innovation; and Smart city applications being implemented and benefiting local people, enterprises and communities.

The Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) launched this year’s awards on August 8, with voting closing on October 29. The awards ceremony is expected to take place on December 1 within the framework of the Vietnam Smart City Summit 2022 and on the occasion of VINASA’s 20th anniversary.

Previously, the Da Nang City People’s Committee was one of seven bodies honored in the category of “State Body with Excellent Digital Transformation” at the Vietnam Digital Awards 2022 held in Hanoi, for the launch of its Da Nang Digital Citizen platform. The award was also the third year in a row the city had picked up such an award.

In 2020 and 2021, respectively, two of its other products were honored - the Da Nang Open Data Service Gateway and the Da Nang Shared Database.
