Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung appointed Head of National Steering Committee for Semiconductor Industry Development

Under Prime Ministerial Decision No. 2265/QD-TTg, dated October 14. 2025, on restructuring the National Steering Committee for the Development of the Semiconductor Industry, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung has been appointed as the Head of the Steering Committee.

Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung (and Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang serve as deputy heads of the committee . 

The Steering Committee is an inter-agency organization tasked with assisting the Prime Minister in researching and directing the resolution of significant inter-sectoral issues related to promoting the development of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam. Its responsibilities include researching, advising, recommending, and proposing directions and solutions to advance the semiconductor industry in the country. Additionally, it coordinates efforts among relevant ministries, agencies, organizations, and localities to foster industry growth.

The Ministry of Science and Technology serves as the standing agency of the committee. 

This decision takes effect from the date of signing (October 14, 2025) and replaces Decision No. 791/QD-TTg dated August 5, 2024, regarding the establishment of the National Steering Committee for the Development of the Semiconductor Industry.
