3,400 new digital technology enterprises appear in 1H

According to the Ministry of Information and Communications, more than 3,400 new digital technology enterprises appeared in Vietnam in the first half of 2022, bringing the total number to 67,300, or 0.69 enterprises per 1,000 people. Vietnam has set a target that, by 2030, there will be 100,000 such enterprises, attracting $30 billion in FDI and contributing 6-6.5 per cent of GDP.

MoIC issues measurement tools for digital economy

A set of measurement tools for the digital economy, issued recently by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC), includes 23 indicators that will be assessed at three levels: national, ministerial, and sectoral and provincial. There are six indicators at the national level, three at the ministerial level, and 14 at the sectoral and provincial level. The Ministry has also provided a list and codes for occupations in the digital economy.
