Vietnam still has high rate of piracy

The Coalition Against Piracy (CAP)’s Asia’s Piracy Survey shows that Vietnam still has a high rate of piracy. Online video piracy is increasingly common, with the number of unauthorized users rising to 15.5 million this year, resulting in losses of $348 million. If the situation is not brought under control, by 2027, the number of users may rise to 19.5 million.

Legal framework for digital assets needed

At a meeting with the Vietnam Blockchain Association (VBA), Mr. Jean Portier from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said it is necessary for each country to have a legal framework for digital assets, even if it doesn't allow such assets. Vietnam needs to quickly complete a legal framework and issue codes of conduct to further develop blockchain.
