Dong Nai seeks solutions to accelerate public capital disbursement

Xuân Nghi -

Southern province saw the lowest disbursement rate in the first nine months.

The Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee has directed relevant agencies to take measures to accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital after it recorded the lowest disbursement rate in the first nine months of the year.

The southern province set a target of disbursing 95 per cent of capital allocated for 2023 but during the nine-month period disbursed only 27 per cent, or VND4 trillion ($166 million).

The low rate was attributed to obstacles in site clearance and limited capacity among investors, contractors, and consultants, which hindered project implementation, according to the provincial Department of Planning and Investment.

The province has 25 projects using public investment capital in 2023. As of the end of September, around 31 per cent of allocated capital had been disbursed. Four of the projects have yet to see any disbursement.
