The An Giang Provincial People’s Committee in the Mekong Delta has approved the first component project of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway project.
The section passing through An Giang is 57 km in length.
Total investment for this first component is estimated at over VND13.5 trillion ($564 million).
Construction is scheduled to begin in June.
The 188-km Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway will have four lanes and a speed limit of 80 km/h in the first phase. It will be widened to six lanes by 2030.
It will stretch from National Road No. 91 in Chau Doc city, An Giang province, through Can Tho city and Hau Giang province, to Tran De Port in Soc Trang province.
Construction of the first phase is estimated at VND44.3 trillion ($1.85 billion).
