The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines plans to open a direct air route linking Hanoi capital city with Italy’s Milan from July 1, 2025, the Government News has reported.
It will be the first airline of Vietnam to offer non-stop air service to Italy.
There will be three flights per week, on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The new air route is expected to not only attract arrivals from Italy but also passengers from other European countries, and promote economic, social and political ties between the two nations and between Vietnam and Europe.
This is the 9th direct air route launched by Vietnam Airlines between Vietnam and Europe.
Vietnam is currently the biggest trade partner of Italy in ASEAN and Italy is the fourth largest trade partner of Vietnam in the EU.
Some 81,000 visitors from Italy visited Vietnam in 2023.
