The Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee in Vietnam’s north has opened the Ha Long - Cam Pha coastal road, helping the two cities on the shores of Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay connect, develop, and expand.
The road runs between Tran Quoc Nghien Road in Hạ Long city and a T-junction near Quang Hanh ward in Cam Pha city.
Construction was approved in 2018, with six lanes.
The 18.7-km first phase has four lanes with a speed limit of 60 km/h and was put into operation in early 2022.
Investment was over VND1.36 trillion ($57 million).
The second phase cost VND846.2 billion ($35.7 million) and the road was expanded to six lanes.
Once fully operational, the road is expected to create the conditions to attract more investors to Quang Ninh and open up new development opportunities for tourism and trade.
