Ha Tinh province in central Vietnam have approved detailed plans for 21 out of 35 resettlement areas, as a basis for the province to start simultaneously construction of these resettlement areas in October 2025, with basic completion expected by June 2026, in service of site clearance for the North-South high-speed railway project which will run through 23 communes and wards of the province, with a  length of more than 103 km.

Accordingly, Ha Tinh will acquire over 760 ha of land, affecting nearly 1,800 households, of which about 1,300 households will need to be resettled, along with numerous technical infrastructure facilities and graves that need to be relocated.

According to preliminary estimates, the cost for the site clearance, including those for resettlement and relocation of technical infrastructure facilities will be nearly VND8.5 trillion (nearly $322 million).
