Northern Hai Duong province ranked seventh in the Red River Delta region and 15th nationwide in GRDP growth in the first half of this year, posting an estimated 7.23 per cent year-on-year, according to a report presented at the 16th meeting of the Hai Duong Provincial People’s Council on July 12.

Total industrial production value reached over VND158.8 trillion ($6.7 billion) in the period, a year-on-year rise of 8.9 per cent, while its Index of Industrial Production (IIP) was up 9 per cent.

The agriculture, forestry and fisheries sector continued to develop, with total production value of more than VND13.1 trillion ($552 million), or 61.3 per cent of the annual target and up 1.6 per cent.

Total retail sales of goods and services amounted to over VND45.1 trillion ($1.9 billion), a year-on-year increase of 15.4 per cent.

However, export revenue was down 14.2 per cent year-on-year to $4.42 billion.
