This year, by the end of August 2024, Hai Phong achieved a total State budget revenue of over VND78.3 trillion (approximately $3.2 billion), which is equivalent to 134.49% of the revenue recorded in the same period of 2023, according to the city’s Statistics Department.
In the first eight months of the year, the northern city reported domestic revenue of over VND36.7 trillion (nearly $1.5 billion), and the budget balanced revenue from import-export activities was estimated at VND41.6 trillion (over $1.67 billion), representing 184.96% and 110.88% of the figures from the same period in 2023, respectively.
Investment attraction activities in Hai Phong remained relatively stable during this period. As of August 20, the city had 976 valid projects with a total investment capital of $30.9 billion.
The city’s industrial production index for the first eight months increased by 15.14% year-on-year. Specifically, the processing and manufacturing industry grew by 15.88%, the electricity production and distribution sector by 1.58%; and the water supply, waste treatment and wastewater sector by 2.19%.
