Northern Hai Phong city has set a target of welcoming 10 million tourists in 2025, including 1.5 million foreign visitors, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.

The target was part of the city’s master plan on tourism development by 2025 with a vision to 2030 which has been approved by the municipal People’s Committee.

By 2030, the city is expected to serve 20 million tourists, including 2.8 million international holidaymakers.

Total tourism revenue is expected to reach VND12.4 trillion ($495 million), contributing some 2.8% to the city’s GRDP by 2025 and VND25.5 trillion (over $1 billion) by 2030, contributing 4.19% to the GRDP.

The city served over 6.5 million tourists in the first eight months of this year.
