Hanoi plans to implement policies and solutions to further develop the semiconductor industry this year.

Under its 2025 digital transformation plan to become a smart city, the capital city will implement policies and measures to attract investment in information technology, digital technology and semiconductor in concentrated IT parks.

Mr. Nguyen Tran Quang, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Center of Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, said many organizations and businesses have expressed interest in developing the semiconductor industry in Hanoi.

The city will focus on tackling difficulties to develop IT parks, creating space for digital enterprises to develop, as well as promote cooperation between digital and semiconductor enterprises with educational establishments to accelerate the research and training in the fields of digital technology and semiconductor, he said.

Investment and trade promotion activities will be promoted with priorities giving to attracting more investment in the field of semiconductor, he added.
