Several flights from Hanoi to the Middle East operated by foreign airlines have been canceled or rescheduled due to the impact of the military conflict in the region.

According to updates from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), on March 4, Qatar Airways canceled two passenger flights from Hanoi to Doha: flight QR983, which was scheduled to depart at 8:55am with 228 passengers, and flight QR977, scheduled for 7:10pm with 251 passengers. Additionally, cargo flight QR8951, scheduled for 6:10am on the same day, was also scrapped.

Etihad Airways has also canceled flight EY433 from Hanoi to Zayed International Airport (UAE), which was scheduled to depart at 8pm on March 5 with 246 passengers.

In contrast, Turkish Airlines maintained normal operations for its flights between Hanoi and Istanbul on March 4.

Previously, the Ministry of Construction requested agencies and units within the aviation industry to proactively monitor international aviation security and safety developments, particularly in the Middle East, to timely assess risks and adjust flight plans accordingly.

Vietnamese and foreign airlines operating in Vietnam have been directed to regularly update information from state management agencies, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and relevant aviation authorities to make appropriate operational decisions. They are also required to fulfill all information obligations to passengers whenever flight schedules change due to safety and security factors.
