Central Nghe An Province’s economy continued to show positive developments in August and the first eight months of 2026, according to a report by the provincial Department of Finance.

In the eight-month period, the province’s export turnover reached approximately $4.47 billion, up 54.9% year-on-year and equivalent to 89.5% of the full-year target.

Tourism also maintained its growth momentum. In the first eight months, Nghe An welcomed around 9.2 million visitors, representing a 12% increase from the same period last year.

Industrial production continued to expand at a strong pace, making an important contribution to overall economic growth. In August alone, the province’s Index of Industrial Production (IIP) was estimated to have increased 20.96% year-on-year.

For the first eight months, the IIP rose 21.06% compared with the same period in 2025, with the processing and manufacturing sector recording particularly strong growth of 25.71%.

Alongside industrial production, trade and consumer services also continued to improve. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue during the eight-month period were estimated to have increased 13.91% year-on-year.
