Hanoi will develop new tourism offering to attract more visitors and targets welcoming 22 million tourists in 2023, including 3 million foreign visitors.

It also set a goal of tourism revenue increasing 28.2 per cent to some VND77 trillion ($3.3 billion), according to the municipal Department of Tourism.

In order to fulfill the targets, the capital will promote new types of tourism offerings, such as adventure tourism, experiential tourism, helicopter tours, hot air balloon rides, and virtual reality travel.

It will also boost MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions) and golf tourism while holding more national and international cultural, sports, political, social, and festive events.

In particular, it will focus on the development of night-time tourism products that have proven attractive among tourists. It has been cooperating with travel companies and destinations to design night and experiential tours that capitalize on traditional values.

The capital will also enhance promotion activities in foreign markets such as Northeast Asia, Europe, the US, and India.
