The People's Committee of Ba Dinh district, Hanoi, has approved a project renovating  and developing the area around Ngoc Khanh Lake into a pedestrian street.

It is scheduled to open on the 70th anniversary of the capital city's Liberation Day on October 10 this year.

Total investment is estimated at VND30 billion ($1.18 million) from the district’s budget.

The project is aimed at improving rainwater drainage capacity, and creating conditions for people to run businesses and offer services.

The Ngoc Khanh Lake pedestrian street will be the second of its kind in Ba Dinh district and the seventh in Hanoi.
