Hanoi welcomed 2.18 million tourists in February, including 383,000 foreigners, 7.1 per cent and 15 per cent increases year-on-year, respectively, according to the city’s Department of Tourism.
The figure brings the total number of tourists to Vietnam’s capital in the opening two months of the year to 4.23 million, a year-on-year rise of 11.9 per cent, the Government News has reported.
Foreign tourists reached 890,000, up 52.4 per cent year-on-year.
Total tourism revenue in February was estimated at over VND8 trillion ($326 million), rising 9 per cent compared to the same period last year and bringing the two-month total to over VND16.4 trillion ($669 million), up 20.9 per cent.
Hanoi currently has 3,759 accommodation establishments with 71,050 rooms. Average room occupancy in February was 61.2 per cent, up 0.4 per cent compared to January and 5 per cent year-on-year.
