Ho Chi Minh City has accelerated its social housing program, with nine projects comprising nearly 11,000 apartments breaking ground since the beginning of 2026.
A total of 19 projects, providing around 19,000 units, are currently under construction.
In the third quarter of 2026, the city plans to launch another 59 projects with approximately 54,900 apartments. During the 2026-2027 period, authorities aim to complete 78 projects delivering about 73,800 social housing units, while closely monitoring the progress of ongoing developments.
Under targets assigned by the Government, Ho Chi Minh City is required to develop 199,400 social housing units by 2030, including 181,257 units to be completed during 2026-2030. The city is also promoting rental housing to better meet the accommodation needs of workers and low-income households.
