The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has approved an architectural design competition for the main elevated bridge component of Sub-project 2: Upgrading the North-South arterial road (from Nguyen Van Linh Street to Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway), to be implemented under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) - Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) contract model.
The competition is expected to find modern architectural and technical solutions that will create an urban landscape highlight for HCM City's Southern area, while simultaneously improving inter-regional traffic capacity and promoting the development of industry, logistics, and urban services.
Furthermore, the competition will select an optimal architectural plan for the main elevated bridge, which will be approximately 6.62 km long, with a four-lane capacity and a design speed of 80 km/h.
This project is classified as Group A, special class, and will serve as a fast transport axis connecting the central area of the southern city with its Hiep Phuoc urban-port area. It will also directly link with key expressways and ring roads such as Ben Luc - Long Thanh, Ring Roads 2, 3, and 4.
The competition, organized by the city Department of Construction, has no limit on the number of participating units. Eligible participants include companies, design consulting organizations, or consortia with proven competence, reputation, and experience in executing transportation and architectural projects of Class II or higher.
Submitted designs must ensure modernity, feasibility, uniqueness, meet technical requirements, and harmonize with the urban landscape while aiming for sustainable development.
