Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Phan Van Mai has required relevant department and agencies to accelerate the disbursement of public capital investment and construction of public projects.

Notably, they were asked to reduce the execution time to deal with administrative procedures by 30% for public projects and strictly punished those who do cause delay for the projects due to subjective reasons.

He requested the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment to focus on urgently handling administrative procedures relating to environment, compensation and site clearance for 75 projects.

The municipal Department of Planning and Architecture was ordered to deal with procedures relating to planning adjustments for 41 projects.

Ho Chi Minh City disbursed nearly VND10.9 trillion ($428 million) of public investment capital in the first five months of this year, equivalent to 13.7% of the annual target and up 18% compared to the same period last year, according to the city’s Statistics Office.
