Ho Chi Minh City has set a target of developing into an economic, financial and service center of Asia by 2045 following the adjustment of the city’s general planning to 2040 with a vision to 2060.
The municipal People’s Committee has submitted the adjustment plan to the Ministry of Construction for appraisal before submitting it to the Prime Minister for approval.
Accordingly, the city is expected to become a locomotive of digital economy and digital society, and a center of economy, finance, commerce, culture, education and science and technology of the country by 2030.
The city will strive to gain an economic growth of 8.5-9% by 2030 and a GRDP per capita of $14,800-15,400.
The digital economy is expected to account for 40% of its GRDP.
