HCMC prioritizes 59 transport projects in 2024-2030

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has proposed the municipal People’s Committee prioritize the implementation of 59 key transport projects in the 2024-2030 period.

Total investment capital is estimated at VND231 trillion ($9.62 billion), of which VND116.5 trillion ($4.85 billion), or over 67 per cent, will be mobilized from the State budget, with the remainder coming in the public private-partnership (PPP) form.

Projects include the construction of expressways, national highways, ring roads, regional links, bridges, and waterways.

There are four main expressways in the planning: Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai, Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh, Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay, and Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong.

The city will expand National Highway No. 13, National Highway No. 22, and National Highway No. 1.

Priority will also be given to the construction of Ring Roads 2, 3, and 4.
