The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has proposed the construction of a new bridge connecting Nha Be and Can Gio districts with estimated investment capital of over VND11 trillion ($458 million).
Construction will be implemented in the 2024-2028 period in the public-private partnership (PPP) form.
A 3-km bridge and approach roads will be built, with the bridge having six lanes and a maximum speed of 60 kph.
The project is important in meeting socio-economic development needs in Can Gio district and Ho Chi Minh City, according to the transport department.
Once completed, it will form a transport route directly connected with the south of Ho Chi Minh City and promote the potential and strengths of the city.
