The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport is working with relevant bodies to study the construction of a road along the Sai Gon River.

The 4km-long link from Ba Son Bridge to Binh Trieu Bridge is expected to cost over VND4 trillion (nearly $163 million).

The section from Ba Son Bridge in District 1 to Sai Gon Bridge in Binh Thanh district will stretch 1.9 km and cost VND1.78 trillion ($72.6 million), while the 2 km section from Sai Gon Bridge to Binh Trieu Bridge in Binh Thanh district will cost VND2.27 trillion ($92.5 million), including VND1.42 trillion (nearly $58 million) for site clearance.

According to the Department, the traffic route from Ba Son Bridge to Kinh Thanh Da Bridge and connecting with National Highway No. 13 will contribute to reducing traffic pressure on the key roads of Ton Duc Thang, Nguyen Huu Canh, and Ung Van Khiem and concurrently create a new route connecting Districts 7, 4, and Nha Be.
