Ho Chi Minh City will concentrate on resolving existing problems facing businesses and shortcomings related to property projects over the closing months of the year, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Phan Van Mai has said.

The city will accelerate investment attraction into its hi-tech park and soon inaugurate and put into operation the Center for Digital Transformation and Center for Start-up and Innovation, he told a meeting on the city’s socio-economic situation on October 30.

“Concurrently, the city targets disbursing 95 per cent of the public investment capital allocated in the year-end period,” he told the gathering.

According to the city’s People’s Committee, its districts and Thu Duc city have all committed to disbursing the funds as planned. Eighteen of its 22 districts and Thu Duc have pledged to disburse 95 per cent of funds, with the remainder committing to disbursement rates of 80-95 per cent.

“Leaders in each department, sector, and district and city must review performance in the first ten months and focus on resolving existing problems to ensure they fulfil or exceed targets set for 2023,” Mr. Mai said.
