Deputy Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City’s People’s Committee Bui Xuan Cuong has assigned the municipal Department of Planning and Investment to work with relevant departments and units to submit to the Department of Transport plans for the construction of a section of the Ring Road No. 2 project.
The 3.6-km section runs from Phu Huu Bridge to Vo Nguyen Giap Road and is expected to be built from the second quarter of 2025 to the fourth quarter of 2026.
A study from the Department of Transport shows that total investment is estimated at VND9.85 trillion ($414 million), to come from the city’s budget. VND1.99 trillion ($84 million) is for construction and equipment while VND7.19 trillion ($302 million) is for site clearance, compensation, and resettlement, and the relocation of technical infrastructure, with the remainder for other works.
The department said Ring Road No. 2 is an important link in the city as it helps connect industrial parks, urban areas, and main inner-city traffic thoroughfares.
Ring Road No. 2 stretches 64 km in total.
