The “Hoi An - Craft Villages Go Digital” project was launched with a workshop on May 31, 2024, as part of the Hoi An Craft Festival 2024. The aim is to share expertise on leveraging technology to enhance product value and access both domestic and international markets with local businesses, workshop owners, and households.
Hoi An currently boasts some 50 traditional crafts and villages, many of which are recognized for their national intangible cultural heritage. It prioritizes preserving the cultural value of these crafts, fostering sustainable innovation, and promoting global integration. Notably, Hoi An is a member of UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network in the field of crafts and folk art.
The Kotler Awards 2024 not only acknowledged the project but also now acts as motivation for the ancient town to continue promoting its traditional cultural values and spirit of innovation, opening up opportunities for sustainable cooperation and development in the future.
