Authorities of central Hue city has held a working session with the city’s Economic and Industrial Zone Management Board and businesses operating in the Chan May Port area to seek measures to address difficulties and obstacles in port investment and operations and create fresh momentum for the logistics system.
The meeting put forward a number of solutions to address bottlenecks in infrastructure, administrative procedures and logistics services, enabling Chan May Port to further strengthen its role as a key gateway for trade in central Vietnam.
According to a report by the Hue City Economic and Industrial Zone Management Board, Chan May Port recorded positive developments in the first half of 2026. The port handled 369 vessel calls, including 306 cargo vessels, 40 cruise ships and 23 container vessel calls.
Total cargo throughput exceeded 4.33 million tons, representing a sharp increase from the same period last year, while container throughput surpassed 3,300 TEUs. The port also welcomed nearly 78,000 cruise passengers and more than 40,000 crew members, contributing to trade activities and the development of cruise tourism.
