Kim Long Motor Hue Joint Stock Company and LG Energy Solution recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for battery supply in Hue city in central Vietnam,  according to a report from the Government News.

LG Energy Solution will provide cylindrical battery cells, while Kim Long Motor will manufacture and assemble the complete battery packs.

This marks a crucial strategic step, signifying a comprehensive cooperation relationship between a global leading energy corporation and an automobile manufacturing and assembly enterprise in Vietnam.

It is also an important factor contributing to the strong shaping and development of high-quality "Made in Vietnam" electric vehicle lines in the future.

The project is expected to become operational in early 2026, covering an area of 9 ha with a total investment capital of VND1.2 trillion ($45.5 million), located within the central city's Kim Long Motor Hue Industrial Park.

The Kim Long Motor factory will operate with a comprehensive scope, including stamping, assembly, welding, and packaging (battery packs).

This will be one of Vietnam's leading modern battery pack manufacturing and assembly complexes, built to international standards, applying advanced technology with an automation rate of up to 90%.

In the initial phase, the factory is expected to have a capacity of 1 million KWh per year and will continue to expand in subsequent years.
