Vietnam’s Index of Industrial Production (IIP) in the first 11 months of the year rose by 8.4% year-on-year, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).

The manufacturing and processing sector soared 9.7% year-on-year, electricity production and distribution increased by 10.2%, and water supply and sewerage and waste management and remediation activities by 9.6% while mining dropped 7.3%.

In November alone, the IIP jumped 8.9% year-on-year.

Sixty of the total 63 centrally - run cities and provinces recorded an increase in the IIP during the 11-month period, while 3 others experienced a decline.

The GSO also reported that the number of workers working in industrial enterprises, as of November 1, 2024, increased by 0.7% compared to the same time last month and by 4.4% compared to the same time last year.
