Within the framework of a ceremony to announce and honor the Top 10 trusted product and service industries in 2021, with the theme “Overcoming the challenges: Innovating to adapt”, held on December 18 by Vietnam Economic Times - VnEconomy, each business will share its experience in good business plans and strategies to overcome and adapt to the challenges during the pandemic.
Opportunities have been found by retail and consumer businesses amid the challenges, after proactively adapting and living with the Covid-19 pandemic. As with many other sectors, retail sales of consumer goods have been heavily affected and the adaptability of businesses has become an important factor in their existence. With support from the government, only those with solutions to save themselves will survive.
“The pandemic will result in the consumer retail industry facing many ongoing challenges,” said Dr. Chu Van Lam, Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Economic Times and VnEconomy. Businesses themselves must recognize that there are opportunities in the challenges and must find ways to transform production technology, distribution methods, and investment direction to adapt and develop.
For sustainable development during the pandemic, rapid changes in thinking and technology are also considered crucial. Ms. Dang Thuy Ha, Director of Consumer Behavior Research at NielsenIq Vietnam, emphasized that consumers want to buy and sell quickly, safely, and conveniently in the 4.0 era. This requires that businesses apply technology in a creative and disruptive way in the “new normal”.
