The Council is also responsible for researching and proposing mechanisms, policies, and solutions to improve the efficiency of smart city development programs, ensuring they are synchronized, unified, and practical.

These areas include agricultural and food processing, energy, aerospace technology, advanced technology, socio-economic infrastructure, and the dual-use defense industry.

As it goes about identifying and introducing a new development model, Vietnam must weigh growth goals against workforce and population issues.

Strategic technology sectors prioritized for development include Artificial Intelligence (AI), semiconductors, Big Data, Cloud Computing, biotechnology, new materials, and renewable energy.
