Fruit and vegetable exports earned revenue of $970 million in the opening two months of this year, up 73 per cent against January and February of 2023, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
Exports in January totaled over $510 million, up 24.9 per cent year-on-year, while the figure in February stood at $460 million, up 56 per cent.
The Vietnam Vegetable and Fruit Association has forecast that exports will hit $6.5-7 billion for the year as whole.
Vietnam completed negotiations last year over the export of many types of Vietnamese fruit to the US, China, and Japan, according to the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development.
It will continue negotiations to create more new markets for Vietnam’s fruit and vegetables this year.
Export revenue for fruit and vegetables reached $5.6 billion in 2023, a year-on-year rise of 66.7 per cent.
