Japan is currently leading in FDI in central Da Nang city, with 222 projects and over $1 billion in capital, according to local authorities.

The figures account for 23.5 per cent of projects and 26 per cent of capital.

Most projects have been operating efficiently, contributing to the city’s socio-economic development via technology transfer, human resources training, product diversification, and competitiveness improvements.

Trade cooperation between Da Nang and Japan has developed strongly over recent years, with two-way trade reaching $730 million in 2022.

Da Nang has become a popular tourism destination for Japanese visitors. Direct flights between Da Nang and Narita resumed on March 26 after being disrupted by Covid-19, creating the conditions to boost trade, investment, and tourism exchanges between the city and Japanese partners.
