The Keppel Corporation Limited (Keppel), Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP), and the Vietnam National Innovation Center (NIC) have signed a non-binding MoU on cooperating on the co-creation of talent development programs for tertiary students from Singapore and startups from the NIC.

They include internships and entrepreneurial events to be conducted at Keppel’s overseas offices, starting with Vietnam, as well as innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup-related programs.

The MoU was signed at the 7th Singapore Regional Business Forum (SRBF) in Hanoi on July 7, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai and Singapore’s Minister for Manpower & Second Minister for Trade and Industry Dr. Tan See Leng. The signatories were Mr. Linson Lim, Chief Representative (Vietnam) from Keppel, Mr. Lim Kok Kiang, Principal & CEO of Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and Mr. Vu Quoc Huy, Director of the NIC.

The tripartite cooperation exemplifies the shared commitment to foster talent, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the region. By combining their expertise and resources, the three partners hope to make a lasting impact on the education and startup landscape in Vietnam and Singapore, creating an environment conducive to nurturing global-ready talent and startups in both countries. The three-year initiative is expected to kick off in the fourth quarter of this year.

Mr. Lim said Keppel looks to make a positive impact on the community wherever it operates. In line with this, Keppel is pleased to embark on this partnership with Ngee Ann Polytechnic and the NIC to co-create talent development programs and contribute to nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurial and innovative leaders.

“As a global asset manager and operator with strong capabilities in infrastructure, real estate, and connectivity, Keppel will be able to expose participants to different sectors through meaningful internship opportunities and mentorship,” he said.

Similarly, Mr. Lim Kok Kiang said Ngee Ann Polytechnic is honored to partner with Keppel and the NIC to develop enriching internships and talent development opportunities for students.

“The cooperation is timely, as it underscores NP’s vision of nurturing global-ready talent in fast-growing economies like those in Southeast Asia,” he said. “Together, we will support and nurture the growth of innovation and entrepreneurship in Vietnam and Singapore, and provide students with the tools to seamlessly traverse borders, cultures, and industries in a rapidly-changing world.”
