Total capital needed to develop urban areas in south-central province put at $53.7 billion.

South-central Khanh Hoa province targets increasing its urbanization rate to 70 per cent by 2030 under an urban development program approved by the Provincial People’s Committee.

Total investment capital needed for the program is estimated at VND1.29 quadrillion ($53.7 billion). Of this, over VND73.4 trillion ($3.05 billion) will be mobilized from the State budget, more than VND48.6 trillion ($2 billion) from the provincial budget, and the remainder from other sources.

By 2025, the province’s urbanization rate is to stand at 65 per cent. The total land needed for urban area construction is estimated at 28,190 ha, or 5.4 per cent of the province’s natural land area. The average housing area is to be 28 sq m per person.

The urbanization rate is to reach 70 per cent by 2030. Total required land will be 46,367 ha, or 8.9 per cent of the province’s land area, with the average housing area rising to 32 sq m per person.
