Southern Kien Giang province has set a target of welcoming 10.7 million tourists in 2025, including 900,000 foreign visitors.

This is one of the goals set by the provincial People’s Committee in a master plan on restructuring the tourism sector to develop it into a spearhead industry of the province.

By 2030, over 23.66 million tourists, including more than 1.66 million foreign visitors, are expected to visit Kien Giang.

The province targets to gain a tourism revenue of $38 trillion ($1.5 billion) in 2025 and VND105 trillion ($4.16 billion) by 2030.

To fulfill the targets, the province will focus on restructuring tourists markets, exploiting new markets, developing new tourism products and increasing investment in tourism infrastructure, with a focus on Phu Quoc island, a very well-known tourist destination.
