Long An to build national highway linking Mekong Delta with HCMC

Xuân Thái -

55-km route to cost an estimated $778 million.

The Mekong Delta’s Long An province plans to build National Highway No. 50B connecting it and nearby Long An and Tien Giang provinces with Ho Chi Minh City, at a total length of 55 km.

Investment capital is estimated at VND18.67 trillion ($778 million).

The section passing through Long An will be 35.5 km long.

The province is also focusing resources on the construction of three bridges spanning the Can Giuoc, Vam Co Dong, and Vam Co Tay Rivers, for submission to the government for approval. Located along Provincial Road No. 827E, these projects will help form the Ho Chi Minh City - Long An - Tien Giang arterial route to connect Mekong Delta localities with the southern city and enhance links with international gateways at seaports and airports.

Construction of National Highway No. 50B is also expected to help attract investment and develop residential, trade, and services centers and industrial parks along the route.
