The State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC) has officially transferred its ownership of the State-owned stake in FPT Telecomm Joint Stock Company (FPT Telecom) to the Ministry of Public Security.
Speaking at the handover ceremony on July 16, SCIC General Director Nguyen Quoc Huy highlighted the strategic importance of the transfer. He affirmed that this move is a key policy aimed at "ensuring data security and national digital sovereignty in the new era".
FPT Telecom is a leading provider of telecommunications and internet services in Vietnam, recognized for its extensive infrastructure, high-quality personnel, and modern management capabilities. It is considered one of the most reputable companies in the nation's information technology and telecommunications sector.
The transfer aligns with the Party and State's broader policy of restructuring State-owned enterprises to improve their efficiency.
This move is specifically designed to bolster the Ministry of Public Security's capacity to protect national security and maintain social order and safety. A key focus is on strengthening its capabilities in cybersecurity, information security, and specialized telecommunications to meet the demands of the current environment.
