Mong Cai border gate eligible for food exports to China

China has announced a list of sites eligible to cater to food imports, including the Dongxing Border Gate in China and the Mong Cai Border Gate in Vietnam, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The volume of food imported into China via Dongxing  will be a maximum of 200,000 tons a year.

Vietnam has two border gates permitted to export food to China, including the Huu Nghi border gate in northern Lang Son province and Mong Cai border gate in northern Quang Ninh province.

China is a traditional export market of Vietnam with high demand for agricultural products.

Twenty-two Vietnamese businesses are licensed to export rice to China.
