The number of Vietnamese tourists traveling abroad has been increasing in recent times, travel agencies have said.
The peak during the summer months saw 30 per cent more people traveling overseas despite tours being about 20 per cent more expensive than prior to the pandemic.
According to Ms. Tran Phuong Linh, Marketing & Information Technology Director at Ben Thanh Tourist, the company has plans for autumn tours in Europe, the US, and Canada. “We are also developing a line of spiritual tours and pilgrimage tours to Israel, Europe, India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka,” she said.
“These are successful tourism products for the company and are expected to continue to be popular into the future.”
To meet demand, travel companies have been actively surveying and re-evaluating old offerings to improve the quality of new tours.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang, Deputy Director of the ANZ Travel Company Vietnam, said now is the right time to travel to Europe. “The exchange rate is better, so you can shop and spend more comfortably,” she explained. It’s also been forecast that the foreign tourism market will continue to grow from now until the end of the year.
Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Nguyet Van Khanh, Director of the Marketing Department at Vietravel, said it has received more than 6,000 bookings for tours to Europe to the end of the year.
