My Thuan Bridge 2 to connect together in October

93.2% of the Mekong Delta project is now completed.

The My Thuan Bridge 2 project is scheduled to connect its main segments in late October and officially open to traffic on December 31, according to the Department of Construction Investment Management at the Ministry of Transport.

So far, 93.2 per cent of project work has been completed.

The bridge will run from the An Thai Trung intersection along the Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway in Cai Be district in the Mekong Delta’s Tien Giang province to the intersection with National Highway No. 80 in nearby Vinh Long province, the starting point of the My Thuan - Can Tho Expressway.

The main bridge and approach roads will have a total length of 6.61 km.

With a length of 1.9 km, the main bridge will have six lanes and a speed limit of 80 kph.

Total investment is estimated at VND5 trillion ($210 million).

Construction of the bridge, which is part of the North - South Expressway project, began in March 2020.
