With 95.34 per cent of votes in favor, the 15th National Assembly (NA) approved a list of 44 persons subject to a vote of confidence at its ongoing sixth session in Hanoi on October 24.
The holding of votes of confidence is aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the legislature’s supervisory activities and activities of the State apparatus and evaluating the prestige and performance of officials, according to NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
It is also a basis for authorized agencies to carry out personnel planning, training, appointments, and use of officials.
The NA will hold votes of confidence on those holding the following positions: the State President, the Deputy State President, the Chairperson and Vice Chairpersons of the NA, Members of the NA Standing Committee, the NA Secretary General, the Chairperson of the NA’s Council for Ethnic Affairs, the Chairpersons of NA Committees, the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, other Members of the Government, the Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy, and the Auditor General of the State Audit Office.
Votes are scheduled to be held on the morning of October 25.
