Vietnam honoured 499 products and services from 227 businesses under its National Brand Program at a ceremony in Hanoi on October 16, held under the theme “The Flow of Vietnamese Brands”.

Approved by the Prime Minister in 2003, the program aims to strengthen Vietnamese brands through three core values: quality, innovation and pioneering capacity. Over more than two decades, it has sought to enhance the competitiveness and international standing of Vietnamese products and businesses.

The 227 businesses recognised this year collectively hold nearly 5,700 trademarks, patents and utility solutions, along with more than 2,400 international certificates and standards.

Beyond these achievements, the companies are helping spread higher standards in management, technology, product quality and business culture across supply chains involving tens of thousands of suppliers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung urged businesses, particularly those with products recognised under the programme, to focus on five key priorities.

These include taking a leading role in implementing the Party’s strategic resolutions on economic development model reform; investing substantially in core capabilities, science and technology, innovation and digital transformation; expanding proactively into international markets and building sustainable brands; shifting from independent operations towards ecosystem-based cooperation to upgrade Vietnamese value chains; and fostering a business culture grounded in integrity, transparency and social responsibility.

The government expects nationally recognised brands to play a greater role in strengthening domestic production capabilities, promoting innovation and raising Vietnam’s profile in global markets.
