The National Technology Innovation Fund (NATIF) has announced a call for applications for 2026 technology innovation projects that apply artificial intelligence (AI), with state funding of up to VND3 billion ($114,000) available for each project.
The program is open to businesses and legally registered organisations seeking to use AI to develop new products, services, processes and business models, or significantly improve existing ones. Each project must be completed within 12 months.
Selected projects must have direct application potential, generate economic value or address social issues, while contributing to higher productivity and quality, stronger competitiveness, environmental protection and sustainable development.
The 12-month implementation limit is intended to encourage relatively mature solutions capable of being quickly developed into concrete products, services or processes, rather than projects requiring lengthy research or experimentation.
NATIF will prioritise AI applications in six areas: manufacturing and processing; agriculture and agricultural processing; healthcare and pharmaceuticals; logistics and supply chains; trade, services and corporate management; and state administrative agencies.
Priority locations include Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Tay Ninh, as well as other localities seeking to participate in the programme.
