A national strategy on the application and development of blockchain technology until 2025 with a vision to 2030 has been approved under Prime Ministerial Decision No. 1236/QD-TTg, signed by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc on October 22.
According to the strategy, a target is set to ensure Vietnam is capable of mastering and applying blockchain technology in all socio-economic fields, realizing the goal of becoming a stable and prosperous digital nation.
Under the strategy, Vietnam is expected to form a comprehensive foundation for the development of blockchain technology by 2025.
Vietnam aims to build 20 reputable blockchain brands in terms of platforms, products, and services on blockchain technology platforms in the region, maintain at least three blockchain technology testing centers/zones in major cities to form a national blockchain network, and have representatives in the top 10 blockchain training and research institutions in Asia, according to the strategy.
To fulfill the targets, the strategy outlines some action plans, including building and completing legal framework to facilitate blockchain application and development, developing Vietnam's blockchain infrastructure to serve multiple purposes, forming a "Blockchain+" ecosystem and developing concentrated information technology zones.
