Nearly 121,900 new enterprises were established in the first three quarters of 2024 with total registered capital of VND1.15 quadrillion ($46.4 billion), figures from General Statistics Office (GSO) show.
The figures represent a year-on-year increase of 3.4% in both quantity and capital.
Existing enterprises resuming operations in the nine-month period reached 61,100, up 25% year-on-year.
The total number of new enterprises and those resuming operations in the period reached over 183,000, surging 9.7% compared to the same period last year. On average, more than 20,300 firms were established or resumed operation per month.
However, the Jan-Sept period also witnessed 86,900 enterprises registering for a temporary suspension of operation, a year-on-year rise of 14.7%.
Meanwhile, nearly 61,500 enterprises ceased operations while waiting to complete dissolution procedures, up 33.4% year-on-year, and 15,400 businesses were dissolved, up 18.9% year-on-year.
