Some 499  products from 227 enterprises, recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade as National Brand products, will be announced at the 2026 National Brand Program (the 10th edition), themed “Flow of Vietnamese Brands,” to be held at the National Convention Center in Hanoi on October 16, gathering approximately 1,500 delegates and guests.

Speaking at a press conference in Hanoi on September 29 to announce the event, Mr. Hoang Minh Chien, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), outlined the rigorous multi-tiered evaluation process of product brands. Before scoring candidate dossiers, the agency collaborated with regulatory authorities to review legal compliance across taxation, customs, social insurance, labor regulations, and environmental protections.

Evaluations were further bolstered by independent assessments of brand awareness, financial health, and credit ratings, alongside on-site verifications and requests for corporate documentation where clarification was required.

A notable update in the 2026 selection process is the increased weight given to innovation. The score allocation for the “Innovation and Creativity” criterion group was raised from 180 to 300 points out of a 1,000-point total, accounting for 30 percent of the overall evaluation.

“This adjustment underscores that brand building in the new era is no longer based solely on product quality and market position, but is deeply tied to research and development, scientific and technological application, intellectual property, digital transformation, green transition, and human resource development,” Mr. Chien emphasized.

The 2026 awardees represent pivotal economic sectors, including digital technology, telecommunications, banking and finance, aviation, logistics, mechanical engineering, electronics, building materials, agriculture, food processing, textiles, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, and diverse service industries.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Luong Hoang Thai noted that the Vietnam National Brand Program serves as a unique, long-term trade promotion initiative established by the Government. Over 23 years of implementation, the program has consistently promoted three core values: “Quality - Innovation - Pioneering Capacity.”

Vietnamese brand value has made measurable strides on the global stage. Independent brand valuation consultancy Brand Finance valued the Vietnam National Brand at $462.28 billion in 2026, representing a 45.14 percent increase compared to 2020 and placing Vietnam 32nd out of 193 ranked nation brands.

Between 2020 and 2026, the share of enterprises with recognized National Brand products within Vietnam’s Top 50 Most Valuable Brands rose from 42 percent to 50 percent. Within the Top 10 alone for 2026, five companies hold National Brand products, representing nearly 69.1 percent of the group’s total value.

Program participation has grown substantially over two decades. The number of recognized enterprises expanded from 30 in 2008 to 190 in 2024, reaching 227 in 2026.
